The Next Time You Receive Jesus In Holy Communion

In receiving Holy Communion we draw as close to God as is possible in this life.

Heaven touches down to earth in the Mass, earth is lifted up to heaven with the host and the chalice. Everything is offered and everything transformed. Which is why Holy Communion draws us closer - not only to God, but to each other: living and dead, faithful and far away.

The closest we get to our loved ones who have died isn't at their graves - it's at the altar.

And the closest we come to where we ought to be - union with God Himself - is Holy Communion.

The next time you receive Jesus in Holy Communion, know there is nothing more important you will ever do.
